Jean-Baptiste Semmartin Mansengs 2021
On the hillside plateau of the Pyrénées mountain village of Lucq-de-Bearn, ex-international fencing champion turned winemaker Jean-Baptiste Semmartin makes his mythical Jurançon wines.
Mansengs is one of three blends bottled under his negotiant label of Jean-Baptiste Semmartin et Companie. It differs from the others as it is labelled as Vin de France, due to a portion of Jean-Baptiste's estate fruit being added to the blend. It's got crystalline mineral acidity and the signature tension that Jurançon whites have, making a great match for fresh saline seafood. The exotic concentration these wines have make for much reflection and longing once the bottle is finished. Try one and you'll see what we mean.
