Jean Foillard Morgon Côte du Py 2021
Over the last couple of decades, Foillard’s name has been etched in stone on the list of the top Beaujolais producers. He treats his Gamay with as much respect and finesse as high end Burgundy, meaning long maceration periods in vats at low temperatures and plenty of ageing in old oak. His Morgon “Côte du Py” is something we always look forward to drinking and sharing every year. It’s got ample raspberry fruit, which stretches wide across the palate. Spice around the edges, and a long line of acid running through the middle. Simply superb.
