Les Arches de Bellivière Astrancia 2021
An electrifying provincial rosé made by Loire Valley superstars Eric and Christine Nicolas of Domaine de Bellivière. Their negotiant label Les Arches de Bellivière was created in 2017 with the arrival of their son Clement into the business as well as a few bouts of severe frost that put pressure on their estate holdings. Astrancia is produced from fruit sourced from the slopes of the Mont Ventoux, which overlooks the town of Avignon. Predominately Grenache, it's seen some gentle pressing and extraction of gorgeous colour, resulting in dark fruits and mineral fresh backbone. There's a decent hint of lifted spice making it a great match for charcoaled meats and Mediterranean salads.
