Domaine Ganevat Côtes du Jura Les Grandes Teppes Vieilles Vignes Chardonnay 2018
“FanFan” Jean-Francois Ganevat has reached cult status in the wine community over the last decade. We get a small allocation every year and are always excited when it comes along. His tiny parcel holdings in the Southern village of Rotalier produce an absurd amount of different cuvées. He's meticulous, even to the point of de-stemming fruit by hand. Produced in the style known in the Jura as “Ouille”, which means the barrels are topped up as they age in order to maintain freshness. This is truly a glorious Chardonnay, of luscious texture and vibrancy. This is a Birthday dinner kind of wine. Have it with some river pike dumplings in a lobster bisque.
