Catherine et Claude Maréchal Pommard La Chanière 2019
A robust and age-worthy example of Pinot Noir. It’s got brooding dark fruits, gamey notes and hints of flinty aromas. There’s also loads of structure that makes for complexity and thorough enjoyment over the course of an evening, as the wine also holds together really well after opening. Claude Maréchal destemms all his fruit, a style which he learned from his friend and mentor Henri Jayer. Fermentation is done naturally, and a small amount of new oak is incorporated into the blend to maintain fruit integrity. This is one to add to your cellar collection, as it will happily sit for ten years minimum. Quantities are extremely limited.
