Domaine Fumey Chatelain Arbois Ploussard 2019
Vignerons just like any other cultivators of land, bear the tempestuous brunt of climate. Raphael Fumey and Adeline Chatelain had productive holdings of around 56 acres up until 1991, when spring frost ravaged 95% of their vineyards. Turning lemons into lemonade so-to-speak, they began vinifying what was left of their holdings themselves. Light, ethereal wines were born from the ashes, including this tidy example of the ultra-light Ploussard variety. Crunchy summer berries and mineral punch. Put this on your list of mid-week wines to drink over some lamb chops and ratatouille.
