Les Vins du Leman Quintessence 2019
It’s lemony, with a hint of vermouth-like herbal tone. It sits somewhere in between a Northern-Rhône white, and a fresh Petit-Chablis. Dominique Lucas employs a number of vinification methods (including egg amphorae) to give himself the best possible range of fruit to blend from. Chasselas is native to Savoie and this could be considered a benchmark. It may be cold in the mountains, but sit around a Raclette machine in the ski lodge and this one will disappear in the time it takes to pop the cork.
