Marcel Lapierre Le Beaujolais 2022
Lapierre is undoubtedly one of the most sought after natural Beaujolais producers that we have on offer. The fruit is from the village of Lancié, which neighbours the source of their flagship fruit in Villié-Morgon. It mostly finds it's way into their entry level Raisins Gaulois labelling, yet in 2022 Marcel and Camille Lapierre decided that the Gamay fruit was of such vibrant expression, that they wanted to bottle it under it's own label. It's what you would expect from a really fruit forward style of Beaujolais with cherry-cola and spicy aromas. It's made in the classic Beaujolais style of carbonic maceration, with a little ageing in large barrels. Perfect when serve chilled and accompanied by a plate of charcuterie and cornichons.
