Meyer Fonné Schoenenbourg Riesling 2021
A Riesling to rival some of the top White Burgundys. The tension between the rich fruit and mouth enveloping acid makes for pure pleasure. Schoenenbourg is an organically farmed hillside vineyard around the village of Mittelwihr. Félix Meyer holds around 14 hectares, which he vinifies in a style classic to the region. Fermentation is done in steel tanks and some old barrels. The wine is then racked after fermentation is complete and then sits on lees until September bottling. Great for some pork terrine or to accompany the classic Alsatian dish Coq au Riesling.
