Château de Bonnezeaux les Coqueries 2021
Bonnezeaux is one of our personal favourites and is often referred to as a 'Unicorn' wine, as it doesn't appear very often at the table, due to it's limited production. Chateau Bonnezeaux's history dates back to the 19th Century, but had been abandoned for three decades until 2012, when Guyonne Saclier de la Batie revived it. Biodynamics were applied in the vineyards to restore health and the cellar cleaned out and updated. Les Coqueries is one hundred percent Chenin Blanc from the Anjou region. It has stone fruits, tight and slightly mineral acidity, with just a hint of oxidative nutty complexity. It will really lift the punchy and saline flavours of crustaceans, oysters or even mussels in white wine sauce. Very limited stock for this year, get in fast.
