Considered one of the Languedoc's natural wine pioneers, Didier Barral is now the thirteenth generation of family wine producers. He's certainly one of a kind in terms of the varieties and sheer excitement he cultivates in the glass. His ideas and practices are based on observation and vineyard management, even going to the extent of having a bunch of cows grazing in his vineyard to encourage soil health. Faugères is a blend of Cinsault, Grenache and Carignan. It's complex and brooding, slightly on the wild side of things. You'll want something meaty and char-grilled on your plate to hold its own with this beastly red.
