Beaujolais
Without doubt one of our favourite regions. There's always an empty bottle on the table somewhere. Gamay dominant, plus some Chardonnay. If you’ve got some lamb, or rabbit pasta, perhaps even something more gamey such as venison, then this is what you’re looking for.
Beaujolais gives you all the delicious cherries of a light to medium wine, with a hint of savoury. For many years Beaujolais Nouveau gave the region the reputation for quaffable festive wines. These days producers have gotten a lot more serious in their approach, but they still give you the biggest bang for your buck in our opinion.
